Discovery and Recommendations

OmniLux's discovery page helps you find what to watch, listen to, read, or play next.

Discovery page

The discovery page shows personalized content shelves:

Continue watching

Media you've started but haven't finished. Shows your progress and a resume button. Works across all devices — start on your phone, continue on your TV.

Recently added

New content discovered in your latest library scans, sorted by date added.

Suggestions based on your watch history, ratings, and preferences. When AI recommendations are enabled (Settings > AI), OmniLux uses your viewing patterns to surface content you're likely to enjoy.

Content that other users on your server are watching.

By genre / By decade / By studio

Pre-built shelves that group your library content for browsing.

Universal search across all media types. Type a query and OmniLux searches:

  • Movie and TV show titles
  • Music artists, albums, and tracks
  • Book and audiobook titles
  • Comic titles
  • Game titles

Results are grouped by media type with metadata previews.

Watchlist

Save content for later viewing:

  1. On any media detail page, click Add to Watchlist
  2. Access your watchlist from the sidebar or user menu
  3. Remove items when you've watched them or changed your mind

The watchlist syncs across all your devices.

Requests

If you find something you want to watch that isn't in your library:

  1. Click Request on any search result or browse page
  2. OmniLux searches configured indexers for the content
  3. If found, it's automatically downloaded and imported into your library
  4. You'll receive a notification when the content is available

See the API Reference for programmatic access to the request system.
