Discovery and Search ​

OmniLux makes a large household library easier to browse without placing another media server underneath it.

Private beta: browser discovery ​

The approved browser experience can bring together:

  • Continue Watching for titles already in progress;
  • Recently Added for the latest library scan;
  • shelves organized by genre, decade, studio, or media type;
  • search across the media types enabled by the release; and
  • a personal watchlist when the release includes it.

Continue Watching and watchlist state belong to the user on the OmniLux server. The private beta does not promise that this state is available in a native phone or TV app.

Available: search your own catalog ​

Search uses the metadata stored for your OmniLux library. Results can be grouped by media type and show the artwork and details already associated with each title.

If a title is missing:

  1. Confirm the file is inside an approved read-only library root.
  2. Run a new scan.
  3. Review its metadata match in OmniLux.

Planned: recommendations and more screens ​

These experiences are planned and should not be read as private-beta availability:

  • phone-to-TV or TV-to-phone playback handoff;
  • native-app watchlist and progress sync;
  • household-wide recommendation signals; and
  • AI-assisted recommendations.

Unavailable ​

  • A generally available native phone or TV discovery experience
  • A promise that progress sync works across every device
  • AI recommendations as part of the private-beta contract
