Managed Media
Managed media is the first-party OmniLux experience available through media.omnilux.tv.
It gives cloud users an OmniLux-operated surface for channels, radio, and curated experiences without requiring a self-hosted server.
What managed media is for
Use managed media when you want:
- a first OmniLux experience immediately after creating a cloud account
- OmniLux-operated channels and radio
- a cloud-managed surface that does not depend on your own hardware
What managed media is not
Managed media is not your private server.
It does not replace:
- your self-hosted libraries
- your local admin account
- your own direct LAN or reverse-proxy access
- your claimed server list
Access model
Managed media access follows the platform policy controlled by OmniLux operators.
Today, the default is:
- every authenticated OmniLux Cloud account can open managed media
Operators can change that later to explicit per-profile access.
Operating modes
Managed media can run in three states:
normaldegradedmaintenance
If the runtime is degraded or in maintenance, the hosted app and operator console should reflect that clearly.
How it fits with self-hosting
The best way to think about OmniLux is:
- cloud account first
- managed media immediately available
- self-hosted server added when you want your own libraries and private runtime
That means a new user can start with managed media, then claim a server later.
